With most of its business coming from the farming sector, Intermol has seen levels of sales fluctuate over recent years. Following the introduction of a promotion in 2007 there has been a large peak in orders. This increase has put pressure on Intermol’s internal credit control department to the point where it was necessary to either hire additional staff or outsource some of the work to retain control of the sales ledger. Intermol needed a reliable solution which could be ‘scaled up or down’ a short notice to meet the changing demand in a cost effective manner. The decision was taken to outsource based on cost and flexibility.
Dr Philip Holder, Intermol’s Managing Director discussed the organisations strategic needs with TAK-Outsourcing. The key objective was to reduce aged debt. TAK proposed an initial catch-up’ project to follow-up all outstanding invoices followed by a partial outsourcing service to provide on-going support to the internal credit control department. A flexible agreement was signed giving Intermol the ability to vary the level of service depending on the volume of invoices. TAK-Outsourcing also provided assistance to help streamline the quotation-to-cash process, and to help Intermol access more useful data from their sales ledger.
TAK-Outsourcing adopted a partnership approach in dealing with Intermol which allowed the customer to realise business benefits over and above those in the pure credit control area. TAK-Outsourcing worked directly with both the Intermol sales team and credit control department to achieve best results. Effective communication was key as TAK-Outsourcing were effectively working as an extension to the existing Intermol team.
